My boyfriend and I decided to stay at the Renaissance for my birthday; we did a drive by this hotel on a previous trip which peeked our interest to stay there. The Renaissance is a great trendy hotel very close to downtown Palm Springs. The staff was super helpful and friendly too; just about every staff member I walked passed greeted me and asked how my stay was going. We stayed for 3 days and I spent most of my time at the pool, which was huge! The pool area has plenty of comfy chase lounges and umbrellas but I recommend you get there early because it fills up by noon. Date restaurant and the bar offered pool side service which was amazing! The food was delicious and the drinks were refreshing! We had a Jr suite on the 4th floor which was a great size; the room had a separate living room, a little refrigerator (available upon request) and 2 flat screen TV's. Only down side: not a great view(all of the pool view rooms were booked.) The room was very cool, clean and comfortable. The weekend we stayed the Renaissance, they were hosting a "Salsa Expo" so it was pretty packed on Friday and Saturday. Although, the event didn't ruin our trip, we just wished we would have know what to expect in advance. I would recommend that you call the hotel in advance to see if they are hosting any events during your stay because it can get a little crazy with all the people around.

We arrived on Friday night. It only took about five minutes to check in. The receptionist was very pleasant and even comped us free parking for three days and waived the internet fee in the room for a days usage. The hotel is very nice. Very modern interior and modern furniture in the rooms. A very chic lounge near the lobby makes for a quick trip down from the room or an escape form the sun when laying pool side. The salt water pool is awesome, you don't get that dried out skin or smell from the chlorine. They have a cocktail waitress that cruises around and takes orders. A DJ showed up on the weekend and played some decent music by the pool. The room was way bigger than I expected. It had a separate living room area with a big screen, mini fridge, and a pull out couch. The king bed sat in separate room with its own TV and had a window that looked out to the mountainside (we got the cheap room but it was great). Im sure the rooms with the pool view are just as nice, I saved 20 bucks a night by being at the pool and not looking at it from the window. Its a short walk to the main strip maybe 10 minutes max but you can drive. The hotel has additional overflow parking on the side, the front tends to fill up pretty quickly. Overall great place and would definitely recommend it to all.

My friends and I recently stayed at this hotel and were very pleased by the service and amenities. They even allowed pets so i could bring my furry friend along. The pool was good, I would suggest turning off the heater especially when its * outside! The workout room was one of the best I've seen in a hotel and the room was spacious and clean. My one gripe is that when I stayed here it was only $* a night and now the room goes for $* a night. Whats with this HUGE price increase??! Ive wanted to book another night here but I feel that price is a bit steep for this location...considering one night we had a little unwanted cockroach visit in our room!

We booked the hotel a in advance with many requests. All of whom were met. The room was everything we expected and more, the pool and spa were huge with plenty of room to swim. The weather was perfect for swimming and poolside drinks ;) The hotel entrance was very modern and very impresive. The service was so great that we extended our stay and the hotel honored the same price. Planning to go back at the end of the month and many times again!!!!! The hotel was minutes away from downtown walking distance. Awesome Hotel!!!!! :)

Loved the Palm-Springs-Style decor. Room was nicely furnished and the finishes in the bathrooms were especially nice. Oddly, one employee couldn't tell me what the hours of the gift shop were, when I only had to walk around the corner to see the large sign outside their door that gave that info. In addition, the front desk didn't have any broshures for the spa, and we only found it on our third day as there was no sign for it until then. Also, another employee told us that the hotel restaurant "Date" was closed one morning. Luckily, we didn't take her word for it. We walked around the corner and it was open. Customers came in before and after us. The breakfast (an eggwhite frittata) was excellent, though pricey. The restaurant was closed at night, though you could get dinner served in the lounge (which was very visible from the lobby.) I would recommend not going like we did in the off-season of August, as the daytime is extremely hot and a lot of businesses seem to be closed. Also, the air conditioner in the fitness center was out of order when we were there, so we didn't go in it. It did have a coin-operated laundry, which was nice. And the gift shop (when we got in there) had resonable prices.
